FAQ
Questions, answered
Does HOA AI give legal advice?
No. HOA AI summarizes and explains what your own documents say. It is a research aid, not a lawyer, and it can make mistakes; always confirm important decisions against the original documents and with a professional.
Who can see the documents I upload?
Only members of that HOA profile. Documents are private to your account unless you, or another member of the profile, adds someone so they can use it. Adding members requires a Pro subscription and the Admin, Manager or Board Member role. Everyone added can read that profile's documents and ask questions about them, but your AI chats are not available to other members.
Can I use the same account on the iPhone app and on the web?
Yes, with Sign in with Apple, which is offered on the web sign-in and sign-up pages. An email sign-up on the web creates a separate account that cannot be linked to your Apple account later, and vice versa. The iPhone app signs in with Apple only, so an email account (and any plan it buys) is web-only.
Do the members I add need their own subscription?
No. Each member signs in with their own account and uses their own queries: the free trial's 3, or their own plan. The first time anyone is added to any HOA profile they also receive 10 bonus queries that never expire. Adding members requires Pro.
What kinds of files can I upload?
PDFs with selectable text, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, CSV and text files, and photos or screenshots (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP). Scanned PDFs without selectable text cannot be read. Upload photos of the pages instead.
Is there an Android app?
There is no Android app. The web app works in any browser on Android, Windows, Mac and Chromebook, with nothing to install.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions bought through the App Store are managed in your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Subscriptions bought on the web are managed from the Billing Portal on your Account page. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
